long-term FOs!

Finally got a chance to photograph some things.

First up – the Monk’s Travel Satchel!

Even though I knit the side pockets and the icord closures…I ran out of steam before sewing them on. I have a hunch that it’s going to remain this way.

Monk’s Travel Satchel
Pattern: from Interweave Knits online
Yarn: Naturelle 8/8, denim and oxfored grey, from Elann
Needles: Denise US 5
Started: March 16, 2005
Finished: July 2, 2005

Yikes, that one took a while. But I was only knitting it in lectures really, so the fact that it got done at all is a feat!

Next up is “no stripes go round”.

It’s pretty comfy, I like the stretchy fabric, and I looove the sleeves. But because it’s not shaped, it’s rather boxy and kind of odd looking, especially in the back (it bags a little). Oh well. This was another mindless lecture knit.

No Stripes Go Round
Pattern: “Stripes Go Round” from Interweave Knits, Summer 2004 (knit 32″ size at about 6.5 sts/inch)
Yarn: Elann Esprit in “Ruby”, 6 balls
Needles: Garnstudio bamboo circ, 3.5 mm
Started: May 16, 2005
Finished: July 2, 2005

Whew! Now I can cross some of those long-running projects off the list and concentrate on some new(er) ones!

Nice stuff. The top looks great from the front.

They look great! Love the bag, and the top, especially the sleeves and the color!

I love the satchel. I’ve been eyeing it and it may go on my very long ‘to knit’ list. The top is nice too, i’m a fan of sleeves like that.

That satchel looks great and a useful size too. I also just completed (well, almost, one underarm left to seam) my no-stripes-go-round in elann’s espirit and same bagging in the back.

    Hi there,
Love that satchel, looks real cool and practical. That top is looking good, and I like the sleeves too ;).

Both the satchel and the top look fantastic!

They both look great! Do you think Monk’s will hold a lot without stretching out? I didn’t realize how big it was, and now I’m thinking that it’d be cute for carrying books to school. Just afraid that stretch it out too much and it’d be dragging on the ground. Bet it feels good to finish something that’s been hanging around for a while, someday I’ll do that :)
